Sports-y Weekend

After such a fun and busy Friday, sports played a giant part of the rest of the weekend.  There were so many important sporting events to watch!  We were ready to cheer on the Rangers in a must-win game on Saturday morning/early afternoon.  Well, the boys weren't exactly committed for most of the game, so we did some crafts while watching.  We made butterflies, apple trees, turkeys with feathers, and lots of other general cutting, coloring, and glueing . . . and the Rangers won giving them a chance at a play in game for the post season.  The Razorbacks were playing Texas A&M in the evening, so we changed shirts and cheered again!  It was a great game but not the result we wanted.  I don't know the last time Lincoln and Beau have been that wound up, but they were crazy little guys and so entertaining!  It was a fun day in our living room with tons of laughing.  Another early Rangers game on Sunday and another win was great, but we had to take a time out to play T Ball!  Lincoln played at the pitcher position for a while, and he was so excited!  What our team lacks in skills, they make up for with hustle!!!  The whole team abandons their positions to chase down a ball hit in any area of the field.  Usually this means at least three kids are tumble to the ground in a fit of giggles after chasing the ball.  The team we played today was older and more experienced, but we tried our best and had fun!  Lincoln loves his turns at bat and has been connecting well off the tee, and he's picked up the pace on the base path.  Run Lincoln!!!  Beau had lots of fun at the game.  We played food stand in the bleachers and took turns ordering things from him.  Beau is very selective about what foods he will serve, and he is quick to tell you that he didn't bring the item you requested.  The people around us probably think we are crazy, but we all had fun.
We made it home in time to catch the end of the Rangers game and the beginning of the Cowboys game.  Unfortunately the Cowboys lost, but Mommy made a yummy dinner (white chicken chili for the grown ups and fish and veggies for the kiddos) and some fun ghost cookies for dessert.  It was a fun weekend for all!  I guess I should report on Beau's potty training.  Early in the week, he had begun refusing to go at all and stopped eating and drinking.  We worked hard to have lots of apple juice (poop juice as we call it), yogurt, apple slices, broccoli, water, and even a few fiber bars.  Wednesday evening was important because he finally let go and peed and pooped.  He's had a few accidents each day, but he's not holding it in anymore.  I'm fine with cleaning up a little pee on the floor as long as he's getting comfortable letting it out.  He's getting better about actually going potty before an accident happens because he's not as scared about it hurting.  Yay for Beau!!  Lincoln is loving this potty training thing.  He's convinced that he needs treats when he goes to the potty too.  I keep telling him that treats are only dispensed when EVERYONE goes to the potty - if it was just for Linc, he'd get a million rewards a day because he pees every 20 minutes!!  We have a busy week ahead . . . Mondays always come too soon!

State Fair of Texas 2013

One of our favorite days of the year is opening day of the State Fair of Texas!  We wanted to be some of the first visitors and got there just after it opened at 10:00 on Friday morning.  The early crowd was bigger than in past years, and we actually had to wait in line to get in.  There weren't any lines for food or rides, and we were sure to get the freshest items and least germs!  After Big Tex's sad demise at the end of the fair last year, everyone was exited to see the new Big Tex.  He has the same goofy arm position but a new different shirt and boots.  He wasn't talking when we visited him, and the boys were a little sad that they didn't get to hear him say, "Welcome to the State Fair of Texas."  Beau told us the reason Big Tex couldn't talk was because he had a stomach ache.  Whatever!
The Fletcher's Corn Dog stand is one of the busiest places at the fair and right near Big Tex, so we had breakfast there!  Daddy always has a corn dog at the fair, and this year Beau wanted one too.  He loved it and proudly waved it for everyone to see as he munched on it.  I'm not going to get into the corn dog/corny dog debate, but our family says corn dog and many others around here say corny dog.  Don't worry, Beau will correct you if you say corny dog around him!
Lincoln was definitely not having a corn dog.  When I told him it was just a hot dog on a stick, he told me that he didn't eat his hot dogs on sticks!  He requested his favorite fair snack - a giant soft pretzel.  He loved the buttery and chewy pretzel, and sweet big brother was kind enough to share some with Beau.
Mommy and Daddy had done plenty of research on the noteworthy fair foods for this year.  We had our map with locations of the items we wanted to try and got started right away.  Let me say in advance that the next few pictures are extremely unhealthy but extremely yummy!  First up was Chicken Fried Meatloaf.  It was delish!  We each had one piece and loved it.  The boys weren't interested in this at all and happily stuck with their selections.
Next on the list was the winner of Best Taste of all new fair foods this year . . . Deep Fried Cuban Roll.  We split one and were both surprised at how good it was.  Shredded pork, a little ham, melty cheese and a little pit of pickle fried in an egg roll wrapper.  Perfection!!  Again, the boys asked what we had then went back to their chosen items.  Glad we didn't have to share!!
As if that wasn't enough fried foods for one morning, we had to get the Fried Cheeseburger Balls from the Chips stand.  They are completely amazing in every way, but the secret is to let them cool for at least 10 minutes before biting into them.  They hold some serious heat, and no one wants a burned tongue!  The boys checked this one out but couldn't understand that it was cheeseburger in there because it didn't look like a cheeseburger.
After all of that eating, we needed to hit the midway to check out the rides and games.  The obligatory height picture was first.  Linc has stretched to 40 inches and Beau is close behind at 36 inches.  They were so excited to check out the rides and pick the ones that looked cool.
They chose a race car ride that was pretty tame first.  Linc and Beau got in separate cars and rode around in a circle.  Beau was changing his mind after getting strapped in and seeing that Mommy was outside of the gate, but the ride started and he really enjoyed it.  Lincoln loved it of course!
We rode a two-seater bomber airplane ride that went up and down in a circle, so Mommy accompanied Beau.  He made the height requirement but probably needed my hand over his shoulder when it went up high.  Sweet fun with my little guy!!!
Lincoln rode solo in the plane in front of us, and he was a pro!!  He squealed and laughed and looked back to check on us a few times.
The boys rode a bumpy Jeep ride together that they loved!  I wasn't sure about the bumpiness, but it turned out to be fun.  Luckily, the designers of this ride considered the fact that two brothers would be riding together and both want their own steering wheel.  It's the little things . . . really!!!
When we walked by the Log Ride early in the day, I begged Lincoln to ride it with me.  I showed him the big water slide and made him watch the other riders, but he told me no way.  We walked by the Log Ride again, and Beau offered to go with me.  Lincoln still didn't want to do it, so Beau and I got in line for Mommy's favorite ride ever!!!  I can't even imagine how many Log Rides (in all of their different names) I have dragged my parents on in so many different amusement parks.  It's my favorite ride ever!!!  (I kind of think it's Bubbles favorite ride ever too!)  We were giddy cruising along the lazy river and posed for a quick smile.
Daddy snapped our picture as we came down the water slide!  I had my legs wrapped around Beau's legs and my arm wrapped around his chest.  I mean, really was he going to fly out of the log?  Safety first!!!  He didn't know what to think as we went down the slide, but he loved it after it was over!  Log Ride buddy for life!!!  (Side note:  Lincoln changed his mind that he did want to ride with us after we had already got in our log, so mostly he cried that he didn't get to do it.  Life is so hard!!!)

Lincoln was so exited to about the games, and he won at the water shooting game.  He picked a stuffed lady bug and told me he was so happy that he won his first prize ever!  The games are so tantalizing and fun.
We had so much fun at the State Fair of Texas!  Fun food, fun rides, fun games . . . so much fun!!!  Oh, and the weather was great too.  It is amazing watching the boys ride new rides and experience the joy of a little exhilaration.  If anyone wonders where Daddy was in all of these pictures, he was at the ticket stand constantly buying more tickets for more food, more rides and more games.  Thanks, Daddy, it was super fun!!  I'm not sure how we will wait until next year for another Fair Day because everyone loved it so much.

Beau Update

Someone is still wearing underwear and looking super cute!!!  I wish he was as happy with potty training as this picture looks, but that's not exactly the case.  He just really doesn't want to do it on Mommy's terms (or his teacher's terms either).  He goes sometimes but holds it and fights when he doesn't want to be told to go try.  I guess when super strong-willed Beau decides it's his idea to enjoy the potty, it will all work out.  We prayed about it tonight together, and Lincoln offered to help talk to Beau about it tomorrow.  I know we'll be accident free and barely remembering this little phase of life really soon!  He hasn't lost his charm at least, and we have had lots and lots of hugs and lots and lots of knock knock jokes.  Beau's current favorite is:
Knock knock - Who's there? - Boo! - Boo who? - Awww, why are you crying?
What's not to love about hanging out with a little jokester with a zinger like that?!?!  Sometimes he says all the parts himself and instructs me to just laugh at the end, but occasionally he lets me play the answer part.  (By some stroke of crazy, the Time Warner commercial featuring the kid telling a knock knock joke is on the tv RIGHT NOW as I'm typing this!!!  The boys love that one too, but Beau changes it from Queen my plate to Clean my plate - clearly he doesn't get the funny either.  It took me weeks to explain that Queen sounds kind of like Clean and that's what makes it funny, but Beau's still sticking with Clean.)  And in the midst of a not so fun time like potty training, it's the little things like knock knock jokes that keep us all laughing!

Potty Training Weekend, Etc.

Our weekend began on Friday morning with lots of activities planned . . . all from home because Beau was wearing underwear for the first time!  We made banana pudding, and the boys were excited to measure and stir but mostly excited to layer the cookies and add whipped cream!  Lincoln didn't really like the taste and only ate the whipped cream, but Beau loved the whole thing!  Typical!!
We had lots of crafts about the letter 'M' this weekend.  (Linc's class is focusing on that letter for this week.)  We glued lots of macaroni and marshmallow crafts!  We also took a break to play hide and seek.  Beau is really learning from Linc's expansion of hiding places.  I mean, he hides exactly where he found Lincoln, but that's better than him only hiding in the three places he would before.  Beau tucked in tightly behind the fan but gave away his location by giggling too much!
Beau did a pretty good job with the potty on Friday.  We went to swimming lessons and dinner at Anamia's and he didn't have any accidents while we were out!!  He asked to go to the potty often, and we were so proud of him!  Saturday morning was so nice, so we went outside to play.  Other than climbing, swinging, and sliding, we see sawed and played with water guns before eating lunch outside.
After a rest and a field trip to Target and Nana & Pops house, we picked up Spring Creek BBQ for dinner.  Since it was so nice out, we ate outside again.  Everyone is loving this cooler weather!  After dinner the boys watched Finding Nemo for the first time, and it was such a cute movie.
I won't lie and say that Saturday was the best potty training day because we had a few accidents and attitudes.  Beau got tired of me making him sit on the potty quickly.  He's not exactly a fan of being told what to do!  But we were going to continue the course on Sunday!  Lincoln was excited for Sunday School, and Beau was going to accompany us because Daddy and Uncle E were in Oklahoma for Oktoberfest.  Beau was a little shy at first, but Lincoln loved participating in the lesson and activities with is friends.  Beau warmed up by the end luckily!
After another picnic lunch and short (too short!) rest, we went to Connor's birthday party at the Lego exhibit at the Galleria.  The boys have been there before and love it, so they were so excited to go.  They loved building cars and rocket ships out of the Legos and racing them down the ramp, and it was fun to play I Spy and find the mystery items.  Happy Birthday to Conner, and thanks for letting us celebrate with you!
We rushed from the birthday party to Linc's T-Ball game, and he was ready to play!  He was ready to get into the action and hit a line drive!  He also got lots of work at 3rd base and chased down balls so fast!  Beau made a picnic on the cooler and had a great time cheering (and playing on Pop Pops phone)!  It was Mommy's turn to bring snacks, and Lincoln picked Capri Suns with Angry Birds Cheese Crackers and Graham Crackers.  Fun for all!!
I think this face is just the cutest ever!  We were visiting before it was his turn to bat, and the sweetness is just too much!
This picture pretty much sums up the long weekend.  Sassy Beau in his underwear!  Potty training did not go as Mommy expected, but we are not giving up.  We just knew that it would be easy because he's so smart.  It turns out being so smart is making him over think the whole thing.  He just got really bothered that he was being asked to potty over and over, then he refused to pee and had accidents later.  But that physique is something else!
In spite of the accidents and accompanying tears, we had such a fun and busy weekend.  I just keep telling myself that it's not like he'll be 12 and still not potty-trained!  He will figure this out and all will be fine.  There were lots of hugs and I love yous over the last few days, and the sweetest ones were from Lincoln after a non-productive 15 minutes of Beau sitting on the potty.  Linc would give me a hug and tell me that it was ok and not to be sad.  He also told me when I looked frustrated that God was beside me and not to be sad.  Now that's a lesson worth remembering!!!  Beau is wearing underwear to school on Monday, and we all have our fingers crossed that he will be more excited about the potty when he sees his friends going.  Even though it was a tough weekend, it was fun just to be together.

Beau at 2 1/2 Years Old

There are so many things to say about Beau at 2 1/2 years old . . . where to begin?!?!  Beau has such a strong personality and not a second of "laid back second child" at all!  He has the biggest laughs and the biggest frowns, can be crazy happy and crazy mad, and can be the sweetest little guy or the not so sweetest little guy.  I don't think our family would trade a bit of Beau because he keeps us all on our toes.  He mostly thinks he's 4 like Lincoln and doesn't understand when he can't participate in something because he's really 2.  In truth, he has the vocabulary and intelligence of at least a 4 year old and always amazes me with his crazy smart little mind.  He never forgets anything!  Driving down the street brings out so many memories that he has to remind me every detail of, such as "Whataburger that Pop Pop gets him lunch from, Cane's where we went to buy chicken strips but they were closed that day, little MiCo where we went as a small family, big TomTom where we buy a lot of food, the ice cream store for chocolate messy cones" - it seems like they are all about food!  Speaking of food, Beau is a very confident eater and always sure about what he wants to eat.  The only two things I know that Beau doesn't like are blueberries and meatloaf.  Everything else is pretty ok.  His favorites are pork tenderloin, any kind of chicken, rotini, broccoli, strawberries, apples, bananas, yogurt, ice cream sandwiches, Popsicles, cheese, crackers, any snacks, and birthday cake!  Pretty well-rounded if you ask me!  Beau can carry on a conversation like no other 2 1/2 year old, and he amazes people every where we go.  He is so confident in his communication skills and knows exactly what he wants to say.  His teachers at school always marvel at how quickly he picks up things and takes the lesson or story to the next level.  We are a family of talkers, and Beau doesn't miss a thing!  The boys are always arguing over who "said it first" and that can drive us crazy!  I'm secretly thrilled that sometimes Beau wins and keeps up with Lincoln without missing a beat.   Beau really does adore his big brother and loves to join in Lincoln's made up adventures.  Sometimes we laugh at their crazy imaginations and stories they make up together.  I'm not always sure that Beau knows what he's doing, but he loves to have fun with Lincoln's schemes!  Thankfully, Beau is still happy to sleep in his crib tent.  I know one day he'll need to transition to a toddler bed, but for now I'm enjoying that he doesn't have freedom and doesn't care!  He's been wearing pull-ups for a while now and going in the little potty some.  We've beefed up our efforts on using the potty in the last week and have talked a lot about being a big boy potty user.  Friday will be our first day with underwear, and we are excited!  He chose his first pair (Thomas the Train, which he knows absolutely nothing about, but they were hand-me-downs from Lincoln) for tomorrow, and we stocked up on lots of indoor activities and M&Ms for rewards.  I am super sure that Beau can learn to use the potty without accidents because he's so smart in general, but I am aware that his need to do things on his terms could get in the way.  Did I say that Beau is extremely strong-willed?  Often telling him not to do something that we secretly want him to do is the only way to accomplish said action . . . not sure how that's going to translate to potty training.  We have a plan and are ready for action!  Beau is the best Beau Thomas Kuhlman ever, and we are so blessed that he is in our family.  He can give the squishiest hugs and say the sweetest things and melt us all with his blue eyes.  We love our Beau-Beau so much!

T-Ball Game and Daddy's Birthday!!!

Sunday was a busy and fun day.  We started out at church, and Lincoln was so excited to go to Sunday School!  Mommy only teaches every other week, but he knew he would have fun with his friends from last week and the other teachers, Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Aimee.  Beau had fun in big church and at Children's Time.  We had a yummy brunch at Cindi's and watched the Cowboys game before our rest.  Lincoln second T-Ball game was in the afternoon, and he was ready!!  He played right field in one inning and center field in the next inning, and it wasn't exactly exciting.  The team we played this week didn't hit many balls past the infield, so there wasn't too much action for him.  He did great at hitting and ran the bases really great with so much speed!
Beau was having fun running around playing Peek-A-Boo with Mommy, Nana, and Pops. The cooler is Beau's other favorite thing to play with . . . who doesn't love rummaging around with ice?!?!
While Linc was waiting for his turn to bat, Beau came over to chit chat.  How sweet is this high five through the fence?  Love these two!!
Daddy had a birthday on Monday, and we were so excited to celebrate!!!  Well, maybe not Daddy so much . . . but birthdays are always fun events at our house!  We met Nana and Pops at the Katy Trail Outpost for yummy burgers, and we were happy that Carolyn and Katie joined us from Arkansas and Megan drove down from Frisco.  After a super great dinner, we all came home to have cake.  Lincoln and Beau gave specific instructions for Daddy's cake - chocolate cake, chocolate icing, yellow writing "Happy Birthday Daddy Kevin Richard Kuhlman" (we are working on learning lots of people's whole names), and sprinkles in lots of colors.  I'm happy that the cake met every one's expectations and was really yummy too!  Lincoln placed several candles and couldn't wait to gather everyone.
Lincoln started off the singing of "Happy Birthday to You", and he kind of melted Daddy's heart with his sweet smile and sweet singing.  That Lincoln loves a good party and to share his excitement with everyone!
Our chorus group gamely played along with the hat-wearing and singing!  Thanks guys!
Beau was having a little 2 1/2 year old moment and had to stay in the playroom while we sang.  Sometimes a little guy just has to get ready on his own time.  (Beau got super sad when I snapped his picture - he was embarrassed that I caught him acting out.)  Luckily he joined the party soon after!
We moved the picnic table in the living room for the boys, and everyone ate gathered around to enjoy the cake.  Lincoln was such a sweet host and had made sure that everyone had a hat and the perfect slice of cake.  Beau had rejoined the group once the cake was served!  He insisted on eating only the icing on his piece with his fingers!!
Lincoln was so happy to help Daddy open his cards.  They boys picked out a Superhero card that was from them and a NFL theme-song-playing card from Mommy.  Daddy got a gift card to his favorite store, Specs (actually just cash because they ran out of gift cards at the store!) that everyone loved!
Daddy's gift bag consisted of personalized tickets to a Dallas Stars hockey game and matching tshirts for all of my guys!!  We can't wait to go to the game soon!
What a fun birthday for Daddy!  As a parent, turning a year older is met with happiness when your kids are so excited to make your day special.  Beau has told me so many times this week that Daddy's party needed a bounce house so we could have lots of fun.  I'm glad we all had so much celebrating Daddy's birthday!  Here's to another amazing year Daddy!!!!

Saturday Stuff

As predicted, we had a fun-filled but not too busy Saturday!  Everyone slept in a little and played quietly in their beds until around 9:00!!  We had breakfast and got ready for some fun errands.  The boys and I went to Dick's for a few sporty items (bat bag for Linc and birthday surprise stuff for Daddy), Hobby Lobby for party supplies (Linc & Beau spent FOREVER trying to decide with plates/cups/napkins/hats would be best for Daddy), and the grocery store to pick up a few lunch items (turkey and Monsters University Cheez Its).  Lincoln had a lunchable with turkey, cheddar cheese slices, the aforementioned Cheez Its, and strawberries.  Beau asked for a turkey lurkey sandwich with pleese chain and dry.  His Whataburger order is cheese plain and dry, and he's getting the first letters mixed up!  It's hilarious to me, but it drives Lincoln crazy.  He got his sandwich exactly as he requested it with Cheez Its and strawberries, too.  We played a few games and built with Legos before rest time.  Beau crashed out in his bed, and Lincoln took a rest on Mommy and Daddy's bed while watching Madagascar.  He told me 4 times that someone on the island said, "What the heck?"  He was really concerned that they shouldn't say that!  Mommy had a nice run (yay for getting back to working out before 9:00 pm!) after naps while the boys played with Daddy.  The boys played outside for a while, and we worked on catching/throwing.  Lincoln really got into a good groove!  Sidewalk chalk, squirt guns, and bubbles were also fun to play with.  So glad it was a nice warm (but not hot) day.  We hit up Mia's for dinner, and it was super yummy!  We brought Chick-fil-A for the boys since they had Mexican the night before, and the ate every bite of their nuggets, fries, ketchup and pineapple slices.  On the way home, Lincoln decided we needed to stop somewhere else.  We picked Braum's and ordered two chocolate ice cream cones.  I've never seen two people more serious about eating ice cream than Lincoln and Beau.  They worked hard to eat it quickly in the car, and it had become a little melty by the time they got inside.  The last of the slurping took place at the picnic table, and they were a mess!!!
At least they were a happy mess!  Beau told me when he ate all of the chocolate ice cream off the top of the cone, there was a surprise of vanilla ice cream in the cone.  Not sure where he got that idea, but he was excited about it!
I love a good ice cream run (even though I never get any!), and these two smiling faces make it the best $2 ever!  It was definitely the Saturday we needed after a busy week and looking forward to another busy week ahead.

Busy Guys

It has been a busy last few days of the week, and we are ready for the weekend!  On Wednesday evening, Beau kept me company on the bleachers at Lincoln's T-Ball practice.  Daddy was in charge of hitting practice tonight, and he spent some time with each kid and gave lots of pointers.  He picked up a pizza on the way home, these guys were thrilled!!  Not much excites them as much as a pizza, and I'm thinking he earned Dad of the Night!!
Thursday was a school day then home to play.  After a few rounds of Candyland, an adventure in the rocket ship, a game of catch the beach ball, and some truck driving, the Splashy Show (Wipeout) on tv captured their attention.  They would squeal with surprise and delight each time someone fell off the obstacle course into the water.  It was hilarious to watch them!  They spent quite a bit of time watching in a hug/choke position . . . a love/hate relationship is pretty true here!
Nana and Pops kept the boys on Friday, and they had lots of activities planned.  After breakfast they headed outside and found a ton of fun things to do.  They did sidewalk chalk, played baseball, had a car wash with the hose and tricycles, and of course blew lots of bubbles.  You can tell by Beau's face that he was taking this bubble blowing very seriously!!
Swimming lessons were in the afternoon, and Linc had fun learning about the backstroke.  He is getting to be such a strong and confident swimmer.  Beau is loving Ms. Molly's class after that rough start with the crying classmates.  (Most of them have not reappeared in class, so that helps!)  He was rewarded for his super swims with M&Ms!  Love my little swimmers!
Two super funny boys helped Mommy with her workout on Friday evening, and we all had a good laugh at that.  They love to crawl under me during push ups, sit on me during sit ups, and generally bounce all around during the cardio sections.  We got calmed down in the tub and were ready for bedtime stories.  It was Lincoln's turn to pick the book, and he picked "I'm a New Big Brother."  The Hoggs gave him that book when Beau was born, and it is a favorite of theirs.  Beau knows that he is the baby in the pictures and that Lincoln is the big boy, and he loves the interaction between the brothers.  So sweet!
We are planning a weekend of low key fun.  A little shopping, lots of playing, maybe a yummy dinner on Saturday night, Sunday School, a Cowboys game to watch, and Lincoln's second T-Ball game.  Not that any of that sounds like low key fun, but it will at least be fun!

Blast Off!!

The imaginations in the house are ridiculous, as Beau would say (he loves to say that word)!  Lincoln turned the little trampoline upside down to make it a rocket ship, and those two have had so much fun blasting off into space!!!
They take turns being the driver and lay on the floor under the trampoline then hop on to fly super fast through space.  Surprisingly, this is one activity that they really do take turns doing!  I'm all for that!
I don't know how much Beau knows about space or rocket ships other than a Mickey Mouse episode when the gang goes to Mars.  That doesn't stop him from enjoying every single second of pretend space travel!  He loves that this activity doesn't have any age requirements!  Lincoln loves that Beau will go along with him and his directions while playing rocket ship, and he is kind to explain all of their adventures to Beau.  Overlooking a few small injuries sustained while blasting off and flying, space travel is the most fun ever!

Lincoln's First T-Ball Game

It was finally time for Lincoln's first T-Ball game on Sunday afternoon, and he got all dressed up in his uniform looking so snappy!  The smallest sized pants needed a little help from a drawstring and belt loops sewed on by Mommy, and his shirt was a little big as well.  I've never been a Yankees fan, but even the Kuhlman family can cheer for a Yankee if he's as cute as Lincoln!
The boys had some one-on-one catching practices with Daddies and Coaches before the game then the Yankees took the field!  Lincoln was at the super important T-Ball position of "in between short stop and second base", and he was ready to stop any ball in the vicinity!  Daddy was positioned behind him in the outfield to guide the players and keep everyone in the game.  Linc went after any ball in his area.
It was a good top of the 1st with our team trying hard to stop the hits from the Wildcats.  Everyone gave a good effort.  Daddy was waving Lincoln and the other guys in to the dugout for a water break before they took to the tee.
Beau was super excited about Lincoln's game . . . until he kind of wasn't super excited anymore.  He played a few games on my phone then decided to call random people.  He left a really long message on the SVAA voice mail about how he was at Lincoln's Yankee game and it was hot and he was Lincoln's little brother and who knows what else before I caught him talking and took the phone away.  (I had called them on Friday morning about picking up the team baseball hat, so the number was high in the queue.  I'm sure the secretary will love listening to that on Monday morning!)
When it was Linc's turn to be on deck, he took his spot on the bucket and had a chat with Daddy about swinging hard and running fast to first base.  So excited for his first at bat!
Little #7 was ready to swing for the fences!
Coach Andrew got him positioned correctly at the tee, and Lincoln got a great hit on his first swing!!  That was so cool!  We might want to talk about running a little faster on the base path, but we were all cheering for him!
The next kids behind him got hits as well, and Linc advanced around the bases.  I caught him running home and definitely noticed that I need to work on my camera to not focus on the fence so much!  Run Lincoln!!!
Coach Andrew was waiting with a tap on the helmet as Linc scored a run for the Yankees!  He took advantage of his chances at bat, and he said batting was his favorite part!
The kids all traded positions each time we took the field, so he got to be in right field too.  He liked to run up and catch the balls hit between first and second base.  He has so much hustle!!  I think he had the most fun with the after game high five with the opposing team.  He has never done anything like that, and he was grinning like crazy!!!
Lincoln's cheering section was Beau, Nana and Pop Pop, and we all took lots of pictures and clapped for everyone.  Beau wasn't really interested in the game that much, but he had fun.  It was pretty hot so we visited our cooler for ice cold water often.
Lincoln had a little cool down in the shade with a snack and Capri Sun after the game.  Note the teammate in the background - that is the other Lincoln on our team and his Mom carrying the same backpack that my Lincoln has.  (This one still amazes me!!)
Lincoln's first T-Ball game was a wonderful success!  He had so much fun!  We all did, despite the near 100 degree temperatures.  We are so proud of Lincoln being a great teammate and having fun at his first game.  And we only have to say "Go Yankees" for Lincoln!
