Wednesday Night: Bugs and Books

Wednesday evening began with a whirlwind of excitement!  Lincoln spotted a bug with his eagle-eyes, and it was all we could do to chase the small flying thing through the house!  It sought refuge at the top of the skylight, and Daddy and Linc did their best to get it.  Lincoln was shouting cheers to Daddy when he climbed up in a chair.  Daddy eventually got the ladder to reach up to the top and that really added to the excitement!  Linc kept shouting that if Daddy couldn't get the bug, he was sure he could.  He folded up a magazine just like Daddy and kept tossing it in the air to "scare" the bug!  Daddy came through and got the bug, and everyone got to take a turn climbing up the ladder.
After dinner was reading time, and Linc and Daddy bonded a bit more over a cool book.  They also cheered on the Rangers!
Beau got his favorite book of songs and really put on a concert.  He sings The Wheels on the Bus, Row Row Row Your Boat, Old MacDonald, and The Hokey Pokey . . . and he sings with gusto!  We loved our concert with a few dance moves incorporated!
Since we were all together watching the Rangers, we set up Linc's tent for a little special fun.  He hauled all of his books in there to read in private!
I don't think Beau got the memo on Linc's "private time".  He was in and out of the tent a million times.  "In" because he had a few books in there too, and "out" because I made him leave his blueberry cereal bar on the table.
It was a nice night of giggles and fun.  These little guys are getting along so well and really enjoying each other.  I love to see them play together.  Sure there are terrible squeals of anger and plenty of shirt-pulling and pushing, but they totally love each other.  And I love that!
