Happy Mother's Day!!! The boys were super excited to share their gifts on Sunday morning . . . they each picked out two bracelets, a book, roses, and cards to give their Mommy. So sweet! We met up with Nana and Pops at the Downtown Omni Hotel for a delicious brunch. Lincoln politely ate his eggs, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes, while Beau decided to only eat slice after slice of bacon dredged in ketchup. Gross! The rest of us enjoyed the wonderful buffet that extended beyond the breakfast basics. It was delicious! Beau's pick from the dessert table was a chocolate mouse pie, and he decided to eat it face first! Oh the ketchup and chocolate mess he was!
We browsed the hotel floors for a while and checked out the scenery. So cool that the view from the 3rd floor lobby was of the downtown skyline. Notice that Lincoln and Beau were not looking at the buildings . . . they were super focused on a port-a-potty on the ground level in some construction project. Nothing entertains my boys like some poop talk - and they had tons of questions about how people poop in that port-a-potty! They asked about the plumbing and pipes and flushing! Happy Mother's Day!!!
After all of the potty talk, we took a Mother's Day picture in front of the cool fire. Lincoln looks so tall and gangly on my lap, and Beau looks sweet despite the super ketchup and chocolate stains on his shirt.
We posed for a picture outside, but the wind was crazy!!!
What a fun comparison from our after brunch picture in 2012 at the same spot! The diaper bag was less heavy this year and the children didn't need to be held, but they were just as cute!
We wished Minnie a Happy Mother's Day in Arkansas and loved that Ally drove to Malvern for the weekend. Such a cute picture of the Freeman girls!
No Sunday in the spring is complete without T-Ball practice, and Lincoln was happy to be with his team. Nana joined Beau and Mommy for the practice while Daddy and Pop Pop played golf at the club.
We all met up for dinner at Shady's for delicious burgers and salads, and the Moms were even given roses! It would be a complete lie to say that Lincoln and Beau were perfect angels on Mother's Day. They tested their Mommy to the brink, but they ended the day with sweet smiles, sweet words, sweet hugs, and sweet promises to be better. These two little guys who made me a Mommy always make me work for it . . . and I love them more than words can express. There is a special place in a Mother's heart for her children. "I'm growing a human," was a favorite comment during pregnancy! Those humans are actually the most amazing gifts, and I am so lucky to be their Mom.
