Swimming, Golfing, and a Doctor?

A fun weekend was planned, so let's get started!  The boys had a Nana and Pops Friday, and they were busy.  Gymnastics, games, golf cart rides, gardening (all G words!), and lots of other activities.  So much fun!
We met up with some friends at the pool in the evening, and Daddy played a round of golf.  We made a few new friends and had a great time swimming!  The boys tried out the big pool (instead of just staying in the baby pool) when it cleared out a little.  They loved it!  Beau got a little too close to the deeper part and needed a little rescue (hawk-eye Mommy lifeguarded it for a second!), but he was ok.  He said he'll stay closer to the steps in the future, and he won't walk out to stand on his tip toes.  Smart plan!!
Still swimming and enjoying the sun going down!  We took a dinner break and swam a bit more.  Daddy joined us to eat dessert poolside.  Perfect night!
The boys had been on the go since 8:00 AM, and they were crazy tired at bedtime.  But what do little boys do when they had a long, fun day?  Tell their parents that they aren't tired at all, of course!  Beau suggested that he color after we read our bedtime story and said our prayer.  Thirty minutes later . . . his coloring book is on the ground, and he is out!  Proof of a fun day!
We all slept in a little on Saturday and had a lazy morning in our pjs.  The afternoon was filled with golf for Daddy and shopping for Mommy and the boys.  We came home to do some baking - chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing per Lincoln's request.  They were delicious, and Lincoln even said they were my best cupcakes ever!  Way to go, Betty Crocker cake mix!  It's awesome to look like a master baker in a kiddo's eyes.  They each ate two right away.  Well, Beau ate the icing and sprinkles off two, but he totally leaves the cake part.  Sounds like his Minnie's love of icing!
We played outside for a while until Daddy came home with a surprise.  Lincoln had asked him in the morning if he could come play real golf with him sometime.  (Instead of us all just riding along for a few holes and playing around, I guess.)  After Daddy finished his round, he went to buy Lincoln his first set of clubs.  Lincoln was so excited to try them out!!!  (Actually, Daddy bought a left hand set and had to go back to the PGA Superstore and get a right hand set, so we had our first set of clubs twice!!!)  He loved checking out the bag and was so proud of his very own set of clubs.!  He looks so old!
He took his first practice swings in the backyard with Daddy looking on closely.  He's an ambitious swinger!!!
Beau looked at the action with mixed reviews.  Daddy had asked him earlier in the day if he wanted to try golf with Lincoln, and Beau had responded that he didn't.  We aren't sure if he was regretting that decision, if he was jealous of Lincoln, or if he just wanted to ignore the new golf activity.  Anyway, he got back to being silly in the clubhouse!  Silly Beau!
We had a delicious dinner at Mena's then Daddy and Lincoln headed to the club for a little evening golf.  When did this little guy turn into a big guy?!?!  He totally picked out a superhero shirt and knit shorts to wear for golf, but Mommy let him know that there are wardrobe rules on the course.  A few moments later, this little golfer emerged from his room.  Collared shirt-check!  Khaki shorts-check!  Pebble Beach visor-check!  He was looking like a little pro!  (I'm about to cry!)
Daddy was so great to text pictures from their super special first official golfing event.  He lined up quite nicely, right?  So here's how it went:  Daddy hit his ball off the tee, and they rode the cart to the ball.  Then Lincoln got to drop his ball and hit it all the way down the fairway to the green.
Apparently, Lincoln loved the run and hit game!  He really had a blast with golf and loved being on his own in the fairway!  Putting was the most challenging part, but isn't that the case for all golfers?  He had gotten the idea about swinging the club hard and was having a hard time slowing that down.
It was almost the end of the round, and this little guy was so proud of his efforts.  Is he like 15?!?!
Giant swing - he looks like he's been doing this forever!
While Daddy and Lincoln were golfing after dinner, Mommy and Beau headed home to play.  Beau (and Mommy) have had some allergies over the last few weeks (crazy cottonwood trees!), but nothing too serious.  After a snack, a few books, a few silly songs, and a popsicle, Mommy decided to check Beau's temperature . . . it was consistently over 101 degrees.  So Beau got a trip to the After Hours Pediatrics Clinic!  How happy is this little guy while waiting on the doctor?  The verdict was an ear infection with antibiotics to fix that!  The doctor was concerned about some spots in his throat, but the strep test came back negative.  Yay for no strep, and yay for a happy guy who doesn't act sick!
It was a late night, and the kids both went to bed after 11:00.  Hopefully they will get some good healing sleep far into the morning.  We may have to cut some of our Sunday afternoon outside activities short for Beau while he gets better.  The nurse was amazed at how Beau was so happy and laughing and didn't even know he was sick.  They are both amazing little guys, that's for sure!
