Our sunny Saturday was followed with a rainy Sunday. We still had fun: Sunday School, brunch at the club, a nap to make up for the Spring Forward to Daylight Savings Time, grocery shopping, and a super delicious dinner of Meatloaf with Brown Mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes. Minnie's recipe is the best meatloaf EVER!!! Lincoln and Beau were totally on board with the meatloaf, but they couldn't handle the mashed potatoes. Really? They really are the best eaters, and we always make sure we all eat the same thing for dinner. Mommy is not preparing grown-up food and kid-food each night. Monday was still rainy, and it was a Daddy Day to start Spring Break. They played in the morning and went for pizza for lunch. Mommy had came home early after an eye appointment, and the boys wanted to bust our their fun umbrellas for a quick trip to Tom Tom for medicine for Mommy's little eye issue. (Nothing contagious . . . just a pesky tear duct that wasn't working right, and an antibiotic and eye drop would clear up right away! They are always baffled when Mommy wears glasses!) Super cuties with cute umbrellas!
Tuesday was a little gray but no rain. We had lots of crafting planned, and the boys had fun decorating foam Easter eggs with crazy eyeballs, red lips, yellow sunglasses, silly bunny ears, and bunny whiskers. Beau was silly with his picture.
Lincoln was happy to say cheese, but he was really focused on his crafting. Lincoln loves a good craft!
While the boys were busy with their foam craft, Mommy was boiling 18 eggs to paint/dye/decorate. Boiling eggs is kind of stinky, kind of lengthy, and kind of tedious. But we finally got our eggs boiled and cooled and ready to decorate. Lincoln had picked a kit that had golden paints to make golden eggs. He had a great time making his golden eggs, even though his face shows not so much fun! Bad picture, Mom!
Beau had requested a kit that had several colors of egg dye, stickers, paint, glue, glitter, and beads. He was thrilled with his choices and had fun decorating his half of the eggs.
We took a dinner break that was super delicious. Imagine browning chicken breasts cut up into bite sized pieces, adding red and green bell peppers, chili powder, and Italian dressing to saute for a few minutes. A half cup of salsa and a half cup of sour cream made the skillet supper yummy, until we added 2 cups of cooked rotini and a bit of shredded cheddar . . . it was another "clean the plate" kind of night!!! Mommy needed to take a few photos of Lincoln solo, but little brother (with Oreo lips) couldn't help but crash the session! Good thing he's cute!
Lincoln was laughing at Beau's antics and mostly stayed sitting still and smiling, waiting on Mommy to take his picture without Beau. Lincoln is a pro at getting his picture taken . . . Mommy takes pictures a lot!!
The next few days of Spring Break are with Nana and Pops, and there is lots of fun planned! Birthday month is in full effect here, and we have lots of birthday stuff going on. Beau is 3-14, Minnie is 3-22, Bubbles is 3-29 (and he had hoped that Lincoln would share his birthday since I went into labor on the 29th), and Lincoln is 3-30 (he didn't want to come out yet)!
