Thursday and Friday Fun

It has been a good week with lots of school fun and evening activities.  Daddy and Pops have been traveling for work this week, so we had Nana over for dinner most nights.  Apparently there are no pictures!  We had yummy and healthy dinners, played outside when we could, and Lincoln built some serious Lego things.  Daddy got home on Thursday and they had a boys night!  Pizza was first of course, and then they went to buy a new tee to do some T-Ball hitting practice.  Daddy did the baths and bedtime, and the boys couldn't help but tell him all of the things he was doing different than Mommy.  It was good for them to have some Mommy-free time.  They loved it!
Mommy used to volunteer at lots of after hours Komen events before kiddos, but that hasn't happened much lately.  While the guys were having their fun time, Mommy was volunteering at the Belk Grand Opening at the Galleria and taking donations for Komen.  It was so cool to see the store first, and there were a few local celebrities in the house.  The fashion show was fun, and it was kind of good/weird to spend an evening with ladies instead of Lincoln and Beau.
Friday morning gymnastics was fun as usual.  Beau has learned to hang on the rings . . . meaning lift up his feet.  He was super proud that he can do it like Lincoln!  Notice Linc observing in the background!
We had a lunch picnic of ham, cheddar cheese, goldfish, and apple slices after gymnastics.  They had worked up quite an appetite after all of that running around!  Our next stop was big boy haircuts from Mr. Danny.  Daddy has been going to Mr. Danny since he was sixteen, and Mommy has been with him since 2012.  It's truly a family affair now!  (We had been taking them to Cool Cuts for Kids, but Beau got an especially bad cut because they keep having new and inexperienced people working there.)  Lincoln was up first and couldn't have been more excited!  He laughed and smiled through his entire cut!  Beau was sure to check on him a few times and was so excited to get his big boy hair cut too.  Unfortunately, Beau had a change of heart/mind when it was his turn.  He screamed like crazy for at least 15 minutes and was determined that he was NOT getting a haircut.  Lincoln, Mommy, Mr. Danny, the other hairdressers, and even other customers came to offer comfort and treats, but nothing was calming Beau down.  Finally, Mommy climbed up in the chair, put Beau in her lap, pinned down his arms, and told Mr. Danny to proceed with the clippers.  Poor Mr. Danny . . . he was a mess that Beau was freaking out and didn't want to scar him for life!  "It's fine, Danny.  Just do it!" Sure enough, he fired up the clippers, and we started to talk about the gymnastics lesson from earlier in the morning.  Beau dried up his crying in less than a second because he needed to tell his version of gymnastics.  What a drama monster!!!  We left a hefty tip and a promise that we will bring a bag of suckers for our next appointment.  (Thankfully, Mr. Danny wasn't too traumatized and booked us for another visit!)
We also hit up Target to get a gift for Zayne's birthday party on Saturday, and then we played outside for a few hours.  Beau got out his rock collection and decided that they need a bath.  He had a blast washing his rocks!
They went for scooter rides, made lots of sidewalk chalk art, threw the Frisbee, and had lots of races.  Such a fun afternoon outside!
We met Nana and Pops and the Hoggs for dinner, and it was delicious.  Everyone enjoyed their quesadillas, tacos, and guacamole!   It was still warm and light enough when we got home, so Daddy and Lincoln had a little batting practice with the new tee.  Lincoln did really well!
We ended the evening with a cupcake and Legos, and that is the perfect way to cap off a fun day.  The boys look super sharp with their big boy hair cuts, and they really had such a great time playing as brothers today.  A day without breaking up any brother fights is a great day indeed!
