Monday began as any other Monday should . . . with a trip to the Cookie Mall!!!! Actually, we paid a visit to the ladies at Mommy's office, but since the Cookie Mall is across the street a visit was necessary. Last Monday, we saw the construction crew building the giant tree on the ice rink. The boys watched forever and imagined what the finished product would be like. This Monday, we had to check out the magnificent tree that was finally finished. They loved the lights and ornaments and giant star on top!
We had plenty of other things to do besides hang at the Galleria Mall. We went to the Post Office, which is a super cool place to these two! We had lunch, did some school work, took a rest, colored with sidewalk chalk, had a million sidewalk races, and then went on an acorn hunt. This was a serious hunt, and the most prized acorn was one that still had it's "hat" on. They collected tons of acorns but both only got one with a "hat". After collecting them, it was time to see who could throw them the farthest down the street. Free fun, y'all!!!
It was homemade pizza night, and we invited Nana and Pops to eat with us. They brought a yummy dessert, and these turkey cupcakes were such a hit. I should point out that neither Lincoln nor Beau bothered with the cupcake part . . . they only scooped up the icing! Well, at least they enjoyed it!
We all had a fun day together, and Lincoln even schooled us on a new game. He has learned the "don't want on the cracks" game, and it has become very serious. I know this is a kid rite of passage and probably lasts way into childhood. It was definitely hard at the mall with their small tiles, and it was much easier on our sidewalk. What a funny little superstition that every kid seems to find out about!
