Friday was filled with fun and excitement! Beau and Mommy did a bit of shopping for a few birthday gifts and a toy for Beau. He was so proud to take his own money and choose a car to buy. Canon had invited Lincoln over for a play date after school, so Mrs. Katrina picked the boys up from Kindergarten. She asked if Beau wanted to come play with Case (his future Kindergarten buddy, watch out Mrs. Bailey in 2016!!), and maybe we could have an hour or so of Mom conversation. The boys had tons of fun, and so did the Moms. They built a fort, played with swords, climbed on the swing set in the backyard, and managed to get themselves drenched with water guns and balloons. No good pictures, but lots of good fun.
Dad was at the Erickson's lake house for the weekend for the annual High School friends reunion. Kevin, Casey, Jon, Eric, Matt, and Jason love this weekend to reminisce about their early years! We texted Daddy a few pictures from our friend group on the patio at the club. Lincoln and Beau were happy to play with Hannah.
Mommy was happy to hang with Blake and her family and a few newer families that are getting acquainted with the club on Friday nights. Not gonna lie . . . it got crazy hectic around there. The kids played and got their food pretty quickly, but the parents waited hours for fish tacos!!!! All of the rain has created two little lakes that the kids love to play at.
Just keeping in real - Beau got in trouble for not being the nicest to a little girl or two. He had to have a long time out at the grown up table. He wasn't happy about it, but we need to make sure we know how to treat our friends. To be honest, he wasn't too bothered by it until a parent looked at him and made eye contact - then he gave his trademarked frown!
Beau recovered and joined the group eventually, and everyone continued the fun. We stayed until it was time for baths, then came home to get hosed down. Movie Night was Big Hero 6, and the boys really enjoyed it! They had popcorn and M&Ms in the package that Nana gave them. Super fun way to end the night!
So remember that it's been raining like crazy for over a month? And take into account that we have had 10 inches in the last week? Apparently, some giant water bug/roach things took refuge in the playroom, and we discovered them when the movie ended late Friday night. Mommy jumped into action killing the ones running around then sprayed under the baseboards. Their little home was disrupted and several more fled from the poison, but they were killed quickly. Lincoln was asking me to get on my phone to find a new home, and Beau was describing how he would get his construction worker wrecking ball to destroy the bug house that no one would want to live in. It wasn't the best end to the night, but Daddy came home first thing Saturday morning to help us out. We have taken care of the bug problem, and our home is back to normal . . . thanks to an awesome new exterminator. He's seen this a 100s of homes due to the rain! We haven't seen a bug since, and we are glad to dry out with a sunny forecast this week. We are glad our home is back to humans only, and we have lots of fun planned for the last week of school.
