After such a fun and busy Friday, sports played a giant part of the rest of the weekend. There were so many important sporting events to watch! We were ready to cheer on the Rangers in a must-win game on Saturday morning/early afternoon. Well, the boys weren't exactly committed for most of the game, so we did some crafts while watching. We made butterflies, apple trees, turkeys with feathers, and lots of other general cutting, coloring, and glueing . . . and the Rangers won giving them a chance at a play in game for the post season. The Razorbacks were playing Texas A&M in the evening, so we changed shirts and cheered again! It was a great game but not the result we wanted. I don't know the last time Lincoln and Beau have been that wound up, but they were crazy little guys and so entertaining! It was a fun day in our living room with tons of laughing. Another early Rangers game on Sunday and another win was great, but we had to take a time out to play T Ball! Lincoln played at the pitcher position for a while, and he was so excited! What our team lacks in skills, they make up for with hustle!!! The whole team abandons their positions to chase down a ball hit in any area of the field. Usually this means at least three kids are tumble to the ground in a fit of giggles after chasing the ball. The team we played today was older and more experienced, but we tried our best and had fun! Lincoln loves his turns at bat and has been connecting well off the tee, and he's picked up the pace on the base path. Run Lincoln!!! Beau had lots of fun at the game. We played food stand in the bleachers and took turns ordering things from him. Beau is very selective about what foods he will serve, and he is quick to tell you that he didn't bring the item you requested. The people around us probably think we are crazy, but we all had fun.
We made it home in time to catch the end of the Rangers game and the beginning of the Cowboys game. Unfortunately the Cowboys lost, but Mommy made a yummy dinner (white chicken chili for the grown ups and fish and veggies for the kiddos) and some fun ghost cookies for dessert. It was a fun weekend for all! I guess I should report on Beau's potty training. Early in the week, he had begun refusing to go at all and stopped eating and drinking. We worked hard to have lots of apple juice (poop juice as we call it), yogurt, apple slices, broccoli, water, and even a few fiber bars. Wednesday evening was important because he finally let go and peed and pooped. He's had a few accidents each day, but he's not holding it in anymore. I'm fine with cleaning up a little pee on the floor as long as he's getting comfortable letting it out. He's getting better about actually going potty before an accident happens because he's not as scared about it hurting. Yay for Beau!! Lincoln is loving this potty training thing. He's convinced that he needs treats when he goes to the potty too. I keep telling him that treats are only dispensed when EVERYONE goes to the potty - if it was just for Linc, he'd get a million rewards a day because he pees every 20 minutes!! We have a busy week ahead . . . Mondays always come too soon!
