It has been a busy last few days of the week, and we are ready for the weekend! On Wednesday evening, Beau kept me company on the bleachers at Lincoln's T-Ball practice. Daddy was in charge of hitting practice tonight, and he spent some time with each kid and gave lots of pointers. He picked up a pizza on the way home, these guys were thrilled!! Not much excites them as much as a pizza, and I'm thinking he earned Dad of the Night!!
Thursday was a school day then home to play. After a few rounds of Candyland, an adventure in the rocket ship, a game of catch the beach ball, and some truck driving, the Splashy Show (Wipeout) on tv captured their attention. They would squeal with surprise and delight each time someone fell off the obstacle course into the water. It was hilarious to watch them! They spent quite a bit of time watching in a hug/choke position . . . a love/hate relationship is pretty true here!
Nana and Pops kept the boys on Friday, and they had lots of activities planned. After breakfast they headed outside and found a ton of fun things to do. They did sidewalk chalk, played baseball, had a car wash with the hose and tricycles, and of course blew lots of bubbles. You can tell by Beau's face that he was taking this bubble blowing very seriously!!
Swimming lessons were in the afternoon, and Linc had fun learning about the backstroke. He is getting to be such a strong and confident swimmer. Beau is loving Ms. Molly's class after that rough start with the crying classmates. (Most of them have not reappeared in class, so that helps!) He was rewarded for his super swims with M&Ms! Love my little swimmers!
Two super funny boys helped Mommy with her workout on Friday evening, and we all had a good laugh at that. They love to crawl under me during push ups, sit on me during sit ups, and generally bounce all around during the cardio sections. We got calmed down in the tub and were ready for bedtime stories. It was Lincoln's turn to pick the book, and he picked "I'm a New Big Brother." The Hoggs gave him that book when Beau was born, and it is a favorite of theirs. Beau knows that he is the baby in the pictures and that Lincoln is the big boy, and he loves the interaction between the brothers. So sweet!
We are planning a weekend of low key fun. A little shopping, lots of playing, maybe a yummy dinner on Saturday night, Sunday School, a Cowboys game to watch, and Lincoln's second T-Ball game. Not that any of that sounds like low key fun, but it will at least be fun!
