Lincoln went to Kindergarten on Friday morning, as usual. Beau and Mommy had a long list of fun things to do while Linc was in school. We went for a 3 mile stroller run, hit up the mall, had lunch back home, visited the library (Beau's favorite thing is that they books he returns get sucked in the conveyor belt!!!) to check out new books for both boys (Lincoln approved of our picks for him)!
When we stopped at the mall, Beau picked out an iced sugar cookie and lemonade slush that we should buy for him and Lincoln to have a special treat when we pick Linc up. Such a sweet little brother . . . always thinking about big brother . . . and always thinking about an excuse for Mommy to buy and iced sugar cookie and a lemonade slush! The boys were happy campers at Big Lou's while we watched the car get all cleaned up!
Lincoln had decided he knew how to read, and Beau was happy to be his listener. After getting all cleaned up in the tub, Lincoln read Beau a book before bed! (Also the boys watched The Aristocats multiple times, but that's a separate post for later. Super great movie!!)
Saturday was an early soccer game for Lincoln, and we all were there to cheer him on. He made his FIRST GOAL EVER!!!!!! Daddy missed it because he was in Tulsa, but we recreated it when he got home. Coach Simon had been instructing Linc throughout the game to not hang back when our team was on offense and pick a place to stand near the goal. One his teammates (Nick!) got the assist, and Lincoln kicked it right in the goal! Everyone cheered for Lincoln's goal, and the kids met in the middle to high five. A few of the parents high fived too!! We celebrated with a little playground time, and then headed home for lunch. After a hot game, we were relived the pool was open. We might have been the only family there, but we had a great time!!!!
Katie came to play with us (and Nana and Pops!), and it was such a fun afternoon.
Some heavy clouds made the boys shiver a little in the water, so they decided to play outside of the pool. They invented a game of pool toy accessory baseball that Nana played with them for a while. Weird! They went "fishing" with the pool "shooters" and reported back that we were having fresh salmon for dinner. Silly guys!!
Sunday was a little more relaxed, and we hit up the pool again with slightly warmer temps. After a later than normal dinner, we headed outside for Daddy's first live lesson of Lincoln's bike riding. Daddy was impressed at Lincoln's awesome balance!
Lincoln rode up and down the street for half an hour in complete control, and then he stopped paying attention and hit Daddy's car full on! Yikes!!! Super blurry picture, but it totally happened!!!
"I'm OK!", says Lincoln!
Beau was feeling a lot emotions, and he decided to get some attention by actually pedaling his tricycle. He definitely hates when he's feeling younger or not as capable, so he was proving something at that time.
Great weekend!!!!! Great fun!!!!! Great soccer and bike riding!!!! So much fun!!!!
