The picturesque plan and realistic asides that were planned for Sunday actually happened! We did go to Sunday School and big church, we did go to brunch (but with no wait at Deli News for the first time ever!), we did spend lots of time outside, and the pot roast was super yummy! We also broke up random brother fights, reminded people to take bites of their yummy brunch, did laundry, cleaned bathroom floors, and had lots of hugs and giggles. One can't ask for much more than all of those good and not so good things on a Sunday. After a rest, we went for a walk/bike/stroller ride. It was so fun to enjoy the warmer weather together. It might have been Lincoln's longest bike ride ever at 2.5 miles, and the south winds definitely made him pedal super hard! Beau enjoyed his snack in stroller with ease. We also played in the backyard for a few hours and worked on football throwing, flower pot digging, swinging, and sliding. The pot roast came out amazing, and we didn't even have much of a fight at dinner to get the boys to eat it. They loved the meat the most, the potatoes next, and the carrots the least. I was surprised about that because they love carrots . . . just not flavored like a roast apparently. The peanut butter chocolate chip cookies I made after dinner were the perfect ending to the day. So much fun with these guys!
We got back to our regular Monday schedule, and the kids had fun at school. We met up for a family run with the kids in the double stroller before it got dark, and they loved going so fast!!! They also loved shouting at squirrels, cars, and bike riders along the route.
Mommy needed to get a McDonald's gift card for a friend after dinner, and the boys needed a treat. They don't know that McDonald's sells actual food because they've only been there once to get an ice cream cone. The ice cream cone didn't disappoint on this Tuesday evening! Beau slurped his ice cream happily . . . and quietly!
Lincoln was acting like a McDonald's pro because he's been there exactly one more time than Beau, but he was looking so grown up and tall in his seat. He loved the ice cream cone, of course! He is also interested in the fact that we bought a McDonald's credit card for someone, and he thinks he needs one too!
We have been having fun on our nightly walks/runs and enjoying this warmer January weather. Of course we also enjoy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and ice cream cones, so the exercising seems necessary!
