Hooray for a long holiday weekend!!! The Freemans were headed to Dallas to visit us, and we were so excited! They arrived on Saturday and were ready for fun. We hit up the mall, which is like heaven to Lincoln! Don't get me wrong, he loves the park and swimming and lots of fun and active things . . . but he gets so excited about the mall! There are so many things to see and ride and eat and squeal about! We may need to get him out more!! Linc and Bubbles rode the escalators and elevators at least a million times, found a gourmet popcorn shop to test out, got a strawberry kiwi juice, and tossed about 20 coins in the fountain. I made him give me a dorky pose before we left!
Beau also had fun at the mall, and he was a sweet little shopper. I kept the cup holders in his stroller full of goldfish and Sesame Street figures, so he was totally happy!!! All the ladies loved that he sang songs while we shopped. We might have made a major score at Dillard's for only $7 total - Beau got a rockin' pair of Cookie Monster shoes (that he demands to wear at every waking moment!), and Linc got a super cool pair of Sperry's for next year. All of that shopping made us hungry, so we headed to Chuy's for dinner. Minnie, Bubbles and Ally had never been there, but Linc and Beau assured them it would be good. (As if they would know . . . I always bring their food in. What?!?! They don't like Mexican food yet!) Anyway, my little angels were so good during the 20 minute wait. There was quite a bit of hugging going on! It was kind of one-sided, if you know what I mean! Bubbles loved the salsa and jalapeno sauce so much, that Kevin and Ally sneaked back in to buy him a few quarts to take home. I hear he's already working on it, and they've only been home a few hours!
After a long day of fun, we all took a break to read a book or two. Beau is obsessed with Goodnight Moon right now, and I think we read it 100 times this weekend. He is such a snuggle bear, and Minnie loved to have him on her lap!
Bubbles is the ultimate target when he lays in the floor! Linc loves to jump him, and Bubbles caught him by surprise by capturing him! I think the neighbors must have heard all of the squeals and screams because it was wild in this house!
Beau is never one to miss out on the fun. When he saw what Linc and Bubbles had going on, he definitely had to get in on the action too! Bubbles didn't swing Beau around like Linc, maybe because Beau was wielding a golf club! Just check out that physique . . . cutest thing ever!
The hugging trend continued on Sunday. Maybe it was the matching outfits that Minnie and Bubbles brought that inspired such kinship, or maybe they actually are enjoying each other. Whatever the reason, I love it! Ally and I took tons of sweet hug pics!
Sunday night meant a little Medical Ethics studying for Ally, and Beau thought he needed to hear a new book. He lasted for about two sentences then bailed! Ally, Minnie and Bubbles read a million books this weekend. Linc says super sweetly, "Would you read this book to me?" Beau backs up into your lap and shoves the book into your hand. Both methods were quite effective!
The Freemans headed back to Arkansas on Monday, and we ventured out for a yummy lunch. Beck's Prime (from Houston) just opened a location near us in Dallas, and it was awesome! Not only did Mommy and Daddy have the best burgers, Beau sang us lots of sweet songs while we ate. Linc made a happy plate, but didn't want his picture taken. How about those big blue eyes . . . maybe his wardrobe should only consist of blue shirts!
We had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! Our visit with Minnie, Bubbles and Ally was super fun, we had a fun Friday night with Nana, Pops, Marte and Scooter, there was lots of laughing and fun and way too much eating and treats. We ended Monday night with a visit from Nana and Pops and a little swimming. Can we do this every weekend???
