This Saturday had a lot going on, and it was all fun. We all slept in a little and had a fun morning playing at home (and Mommy got in a 3 mile solo run!). After lunch, Lincoln had a Ninja soccer game. He hustled so hard! He even volunteered to play an extra quarter because our team was a man down (one player was out of town). Lincoln proved himself to be the fastest runner of both teams and really worked hard to chase down the ball and kick it to a teammate. He beat the other team to the ball over and over. Go Lincoln!!!
The rest of the afternoon was busy at home. We made pancake muffins. Lincoln was in charge of adding the blueberries, Beau was in charge of adding the strawberries, and Mommy was in charge of adding the chocolate chips. Happy helper!!
This guy was way more concerned about sneaking chocolate chips!!!! The pancake muffins turned out good, I guess. Lincoln ate 4 right away and asked if we could make these for him to have 4 before school every day. Sure!! Beau ate the chocolate chips from the top of his muffin and was done. Can't please everyone!
We did a few art projects after our baking. The boys got Batman watercolor painting sheets, and they loved them!!! Each guy had 6 sheets with little paint spots on the bottom of the sheet, a brush, and water. Blue eyed Beau loved painting!
Sweet Lincoln really put a lot of detail in his watercolor Batman paintings. We need another set of these for sure!
They both did a week's worth of math worksheets before heading to dinner. We also had to cheer on the Razorbacks against the Aggies this afternoon. Such a heartbreaking loss in overtime . . . totally could have won that one against a 6th ranked team! Oh well! Daddy and the boys met Nana and Pops for dinner at Manny's, and Mommy went to Kindergarten Mom's Night Out. It was so fun to visit with old and new friends. Mommy's special chicken salad croissants were a hit, and we all had fun with lots of yummy food and fun conversations. Daddy had the kids showered and ready to watch a movie before bed, and they loved watching The Aristocats again. After a long day and so much fun, they crashed.
Just to keep it real, they crashed at 11:00 after we started the movie over again. They love The Aristocats so much and always want to watch it twice in one night.
Obviously no one made it through the second viewing! We don't watch any TV during the week, so staying up late for movies on the weekend is such a treat. If two tired little boys fall asleep while watching a sweet movie late on a weekend night, that is a sign of a good day.
